White cab top

I have a crazy question i am rebuilding a 67 chevy lwb and it is white on cab, but the top of the doors and front post are red. I see alot of pictues of trucks and the top of door and front post are white like top. I am almost positive mine has not been repainted, is this possibly a 67 thing?

Re: White cab top

I believe the 67-68 had one paint style for the top, and the 69/72 did it differently, which I believe is the painted post version yiu mentioned.

Re: White cab top

Palf70Step is right. There were 2 ways to paint the cab top white. My 68 is like yours, and if i was home I'd post a pic..lol

Re: White cab top

I was under the impression that '67 only had the top painted and '68-'72 had top and pillars painted.

Could be wrong and wouldn't be the first time.

Re: White cab top

Nevermind the rest of the amazing technicolor paint job, but the cab is factory '68.

Re: White cab top

My 68 GMC had only the top and along the back painted white.

Kinda like this one (a 67) but of course mine isn't this nice...

After looking through my pictures, I think you are the one that is correct. The 67 looks like they had the top only painted, while the 68 and up painted the posts and top.

Re: White cab top

I'm glad you posted this, I'm planning on painting the top white on my 67 when I get around to painting it and was just gonna do it like my buddy's 71. I really like the 67 style better LOL.

Re: White cab top

67 style is nice. Sportier, like a vinyl top.

Re: White cab top

otef546, lookin sharp, nice stance, not too low so you can actually drive it over a speed bump and not worry about your exhaust getting ripped out from underneath
