Could someone please tell me what I have. There are 43 teeth on the ring gear and I would like to know what the ratio is. It looks like it's dated 2/02 and the teeth all look like new. There are shadows in the pics that are deceiving.

I would really like to just be able to take all the gears out then reinstall after powder coating but I think I need to have the shims checked and the pinion depth checked. Am I correct. I will need all new seals as well

The ring gear should be stamped with the number of teeth on the pinion. Since your ring gear has 43 teeth it is probably a 43:14 or 3:07.

It is a good practice to check the backlash and contact patterns. If you are reusing the bearings and you keep the existing shims in the correct locations then the fitup should not change . This assumes that the fitup is good now and that you retorque the pinion nut to the torque value it has now.

New seals would be needed.

I see that it is a 14 43 or 3:07 ratio.

it is possible that during the baking portion of powder coating the housing may change dimensions. so I would have it set up fresh after it looks pretty.
