where to buy quality lug nuts?

I purchased a set of tires and wheels some time ago. They came with Eagle caps and new lug nuts. The truck was driven in snow once and all the chrome flaked off of the caps and the lug nuts looked like bare steel they rusted so bad.

I do not want to spend weekends polishing this stuff, just drive and clean occasionally.

Is there a quality chrome lug nut supplier out there? My OEM nuts have never been waxed or cleaned other than the usual carwash and they look good.

What do you guys do? Tire shop, online, parts store?

Re: where to buy quality lug nuts?

The OEM ones are probably stainless capped nuts. A steel nut with a pressed stainless cap. These are great but if you aren't careful you can twist the cap off of the nut. The Dorman number is 611-070 for 7/16" and 611-071 for 1/2".

Re: where to buy quality lug nuts?

The OEM I refered towere plain nuts with a gold cad coating under hubcaps. But they were there foryears and still look good. My steel nuts on the 72 look better than the year old chrome ones.
Maybe chrome isn't what it used to be.
Was just wondering if there was a better quality brand than the China set I got. You know, Jegs or Summit or better at the local dealer to specify that I want quality and not the lowest price.
I need 9/16" for the 3/4.
I will call around on Monday. Thanks.
