If you are referring to the '63-'66 Suburban/panel tank, there is no difference in the position of the filler tube. The only difference is the depth and the lack of the notch for the spare tire in the '69-'72 Blazer tank.

Just from the pics it looks like the blazer tank filler is moved over (towards the rear) just enough to not interfere with the sill mounting hole.

Is it optical illusion or is that the case?
