getting ready to change floors

any last words or suggestions? I have my 67' ready to change the floor and just want to double check and have a second set of eyes per say to see if I forgot anything. have taken all measurements that I can with the rust thru spots that I have. that has made it hard because po had several patches and in some spots dont have a concrete places to measure.

Re: getting ready to change floors

sourkraut, it helps if you have good doors to start with. tack, mock fit, and double check before final weld. some before measurements are a good thing. if your cab is not a good candidate for before measurements and you don't have another to measure form, ask here. the complete floor ass. replacement is pretty straight forward. check rob's build thread if you haven't already, here

Re: getting ready to change floors

I've done it both ways. If you replace the kick panels after the firewall and floor is in place, you can fit the replacement kick panel in snug right against the floor for a real good fit.

Re: getting ready to change floors

ok thanks, i was not sure with all of the metal being sandwiched by the bolts if it matteredwhich order and wanted to check, thanks again.
heck till i am done with you it would have been easier for you to have just come upto pa and have done it for me.

i have the floor out and have to replace some of the left toe or lower firewall to reproduce and replace before putting in the floor. i am excited to get the floor in so i can see some progress and motivation again. i had taken a little break this summer and really want to try to get the cab bakc on before winter. do you know if they mke the lower firewall patches that mate to the floor? if not it is just 2 bends on a break!

Re: getting ready to change floors

I'm not aware of a firewall patch (doesn't mean it's not available) but like you said it's a simple piece to make. I'm sure you know there is a complete firewall. Save old hoods and stuff for patches! Let me know if I can help in any way. If you need to, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.

Re: getting ready to change floors

ok, I really appreciate all your help! I had gotten eveything cleaned up except the side I need to patch. I still have to cut it out and want to wait till I have the patch made.
