Door adjustment question
Any way to adjust the driver's door with the fender on? The door on the '67 I bought binds in the latch and up the back of the door. I think I need to put my floor jack under the back of the door to bring the back up but I don't see how to get to the bolts. The hinges don't seem sloppy but it seems like the door is hanging down. Couldn't find it in the search section. Thanks in advance.......

Re: Door adjustment question
Sounds like bushings are bad. Door will not usually sag unless hinge pin bushings are gone. Bushing and pin kits are relatively cheap but require removing the door.

Re: Door adjustment question
Careful with the jack.
If you put pressure beyond mere support under the door, you'll likely bend the door jam where the hinge mounts and then you'll be in a pickle.

Re: Door adjustment question
Snap-On makes a "S" wrench that will allow you to get on the bolts. It is pricey but it will work. Some of the bolts can be gotten to with a 1/4" drive ratchet but not all.

Re: Door adjustment question
THANKS,
I'll try the 1/4" drive, or maybe heating up a BIG LOTS quality wrench and bending it to shape. The truck is hopefully going to get restored when rhe weather cools off a little. I'm trying to fix some stuff to make it road worthy so I can play with it a little. I changed the carburetor last night and it sounds better---- at least it'll idle now, took a pretty clean looking Edelbrock off and put a grungy looking old Holley on. The deck stamped engine numbers are right under the alternator and had to see. Orig. a 6cyl truck, it's got a small block, don't know-- 305, 350?, center bolt valve covers and it's painted blue. Alum intake, HEI dist. and headers--- all cruddy and nasty. Didn't sound bad, a few exhaust leaks, has lights and brakes, bad transmission leak. Haven't wrenched any in a long time and my hands are sore today.
