Tim,

when I had a 4/5 drop, with 4" leafs and shaclkes in top hole, I had 27.5" all the way around. I had over 1" of rake. I also had about 3.75" of space between the axle and frame with 5".

Now with 4/6, I have 27.5" in front and 26.25" at the rear, with 2.5" above axle.

I'm thinking, with as much rake as I had, I really didn't have 5" of drop. Probably more like 4.5". It just don't add up.

I like the way the wheels look on your truck. I'm having a hard time finding cool wheels for my truck because of all the lug nuts.

Thumbs up

Mike:

Always thought your truck looked kool, but now after your 4/6 drop, it even looks better! Here is a question, I know you have 17 X 8 Torque Thrust II's, but with your 4/6 drop, would you have enough room in the rear for 17 X 10's without rubbing? Another forum member just sold a couple, but was wondering if it would have worked in a 4/6 drop application. I believed the wheels had a 5.75 back spacing.

Did you order Western Chassis C-Section? I believe their design makes it possible to install without bed removal.

I have 17x9½ with a 5½" BS, on a 3/5 drop with 255/55 tires (28", as opposed to the 255/50 27" that Mike has) So, you should be ok.

That's looking really nice.
Makes me think of spending some more money on my own little rig.

That only applies to 88+ GM trucks. You must remove the bed on our trucks.

Looks great Mike, although a bit lower than I personally would go. (Well for now. hehe). Give the truck a great new stance I would say.

I do have a strange question however. When people C'notch the frame, does that not considerably weaken the frame rails? Sounds like a bad idea if you ask me. (Well, not like people intend to haul things around with lowered trucks.)

Eh well.

Jeff

A C-notch is very strong. In fact, a member of FSC.com totaled his truck and the frame was bent except around the notch. I've also heard of someone being rear-ended and the frame being smashed up until the notch. Plus, look at the abuse many bagged trucks go through---Side-to-side, hopping, and etc.---No problems!

If that's the case, how in the WORLD would your truck sit anywhere NEAR level? Those front tires are 29" and those back tires are about 27"...
Most of the C10's with drops around here run 295/50 15's...But only ONE with 255/55 17's
