Re: HELP!!! Thinkin about selling it....

Since the truck is solid and swb I'm going t say stick with the truck.

I have a 59 ragtop beetle and love it. I say finish the truck and go use it to tow a beetle project home and have both..... I'd look for an model older than a 65 though

Re: HELP!!! Thinkin about selling it....

When I was a kid I told my dad that I wanted to buy and restore a beetle. He said, "that's fine but after you spend all your money and all your time restoring it, you will still have a Beetle." I got a 67 Camaro instead and have never regretted it. I would stick with the truck or upgrade to something better, not worse, no offense intended, just my opinion.

Ditch the Nova, dude! Not the truck! A '72 Nova can be nice, but it's not what I would consider top of the heap if I was looking to keep something. If you do ANYTHING but watch movies in your spare time, you will need a truck at some point! Ace the Nova, pick up the Beetle and enjoy them all...

Take out the word beetle, and add truck/burb/cougar/mustang or anything else I have spoken about or tried... and you get what my dad-hole says.

It all boils down to what you want more. Like said earlier, if you ask on a VW forum, they'll ask if you sold the truck yet.

Now, here's another angle that you MIGHT be able to pull...
Just telll her "but honey, think of all the gas I'd save driving a bug! I still need the truck to do truck stuff, and the Nova is a good investment."

It might work.

Re: HELP!!! Thinkin about selling it....

First of all keep the truck, bugs are fun but good old American metal is funner. I have the opposite problem, the dune buggy in my picture was my first project, had a great time bringing it back from the dead. I purchased a 72 short bed with no running gear. Found a 67 long bed at a yard sale, no rust, and I mean no rust, fresh 327, turbo 350 factory air custom cab. Had been sitting for awhile and someone broke the window's, got it for $1000.00 I am building a short bed 67. Now for the Ripley's believe it or not part- I asked my wife if I could sell the buggy, she asked why, I told her I wanted the money for the truck project, her response, no don't sell the buggy you can have money for the truck. I have almost begged her to let me sell the buggy her answer No Way!!! I am thinking about selling some of her DNA for men to inject in to their wife.

Re: HELP!!! Thinkin about selling it....

Yea I am on some other boards and regardless of the hobby the wife issue always comes up. It comes up regularly on the audio board I am on. I must be lucky cause my wife doesn't know or give a rats ass what I do. On the 70 I am rebuilding now she has never asked about it or even seen it. She tells me to show it to her when I am done. Same with my cabin cruiser and stereo stuff. I dont ask any questions about her three kayaks etc. If she ever told me some of my stuff had to go I would just laugh.

I need your wife's DNA. How much do you want for enough to work on a 5 foot 4 inch 110 pounder?

Re: HELP!!! Thinkin about selling it....

my opinion is DONT buy HITLERS REVENGE it is prolly the most NOTHING car ever produced!!! it ranks right up there with the yugo!!! i had rather live next to somebody with a real car than to own a BUG. my thinking here is that maybe i could borrow the neighbors cars every now and then and walk the rest of the time. but its your choice.

I dont think that I'll ever sell the nova, my dad gave it to me when I was 8 but if it was just some other nova i would think about it. And I feel like I got a really good deal on the truck too. I only gave $1050.00 so i cant complane about that. It does need so work the rocker pannels are almost gone, and it has rust in the normal spots. I'm just goin for the shop truck/parts hauler look anyways.

It might work.
