What is this part? Its on the drivers frame rail just above where the e brake goes through the frame? I dont remember anything connected to it?

It looks like an engine tie down bracket. The original motor mounts would separate allowing the engine to rotate under acceleration. As a fix GM supplied the kits which included cables to go from the bracket to the engine.

It is not needed now as motor mounts are made so they cannot separate.

and I found a pair of the original cables a couple weeks ago. kinda cool, yet useless.

BTW, isn't that hole for the shock stud instead of the E brake cable?

I always wondered why my engine had those and the cables going to the block and exhaust manifold. I always thought it was for some late 60's accident protection idea to keep the engine from flying back into the cab if the motor mount failed during a crash or something..

Spin on Oil Filter adapter.

Used instead of the old cansister style oil filter.

Thanks. You answers two questions actually. I now know why I hear so many storys of broken motor mounts in older muscle car stories too.

4x2?! where's the upper control arm? I see the wheel cylinder bleeder at the top and the pitman arm hanging down.
