Truck bed tilting
Yesterday I noticed that my 1980 truck bed was tilting a little to right,I'm looking from the back and eying from the back window the front of the bed loos ok the tilt is looks like it's on the rear at the tail gate.So my question is where do I need to look at or what should I do to fix it.Thanks........also I have leaf springs on the back,if I switched the springs and put them under the axle would that be economical way of lowering it and if not how do I lower it economically .Thanks

Re: Truck bed tilting
Is it tilted when compared to the back window of the cab? It may be you have a rear cab mount that needs to be replaced, the frame is twisted, or the bed is just on crooked.

Re: Truck bed tilting
It's quit common for the beds to be low on the passenger front corner from the factory. It sounds as if yours is the opposite and at the rear of the bed. Take a look at your suspension, and bed supports. You could have a broken or bent spring, frame, bed support, etc. Investigate and report back.
Doing a "flip kit" in the rear is an economical way to get about 5" of drop. Combined with a lowering shackle it can give you a couple more. Check with suppliers like Summit for reasonable priced kits. Then you have to determine what to do with the front. I suggest drop spindles, and lowering springs. If you want to do it for cheap, get spindles and cut 1/2 -1 coil off your stock springs. Make sure do no use excessive heat when you cut them.
