How would you fix this???

What do ya'll think? Use one of those "door pillar patches" or just make a section out of sheet metal to complete the section broken off?

Personally I would look for a patch panel, but then my fabrication skills aren't the best. If you have the skills to fab up what you need, then go for it. At least then you know the quality of the repair piece intimately.
