later model master cylinder on a 69?
Here's what I'm trying to do-
I have a 69 C10 with power disc brakes (front end from a 71). I want to get a new master cylinder with a plastic reservoir. For looks and because the cap shouldn't leak, unlike the new cast iron mc i just put on. I tried a MC for a 1990 1/2 ton. Close, but no cigar. I might look at a Blazer MC next. Has anyone here had this situation?

Check your auto parts cross reference guide for a mid 80 trucks MC. They should be similiar if not the same and have the plastic reservoir.

If you decide to stick with the cast unit, the metal lids that are held on with bails should have a rubber/neoprene gasket under them to prevent leaking. If that gasket is torn or otherwise not in good shape, it's an easy fix with a new gasket or lid.
