Real deal about Track Bars; tire rub issue

I have a '69 short step. I have done my best to assure my bed is centered in reference to the cab. The truck was lowered 3/5 but I bagged the rear to pull a trailer. In the bag application, I also changed the lower control arms and the bushings. I am concerned about my rear axle being centered due to tire rub and the inconsisntecy with bed to tire clearance on each side. I purchased a deluxe track bar and everything I have read says that a truck lowered more than 4 inches, may need an adjustable track bar. How do I assure my rear is centered? Is an adjustable bar needed? Do I need to take it to a shop to center it for my track bar application? I am also concerned about needing spacers. I know one of you gurus can help! Ed

An adjustable bar is best starting around a 4'' drop or more. The "deluxe bar" you say you bought should be an adjustable one. No spacers or anything are needed, and you can do it yourself. Just measure from the tire to the inside of the wheelwell on both sides and turn the adjustable end on the bar in or out to lengthen or shorten it until it's even side to side.
The easiest way to pull the rear over is to hook a ratchet strap on the right side of the rearend and the other end on the left side of the truck on the frame. But that is usually needed with coil springs, bags have much more side to side movement, so at most you might just need a prybar.

Just make sure you do your measuring at ride height.
Air your bags to ride height,... then set the truck on jackstands, placed under the axle tubes.
You'll basically center the truck rearend to the frame.

If I'm reading right. Bags are just helpers for towing, right. Do like posted above and you will be golden.
