how do i mount stock mirrors over un original paint..

well ive gotta wonderful paintjob from PO thats paint right over orig. paint..

well he mounted aftermakert truck mirrors and im goin back to factory..

so how can i find the holes to mount them?

guess and drill

sand down to drill thru the bondo'd over holes

or another option

i ordered 4 echusthon things

all mirror stuff in stainless/chrome

door locks and ignition locks...(so nobody can take da ride)

and ive gotten alot of complements from strangers at school

"hey i saw u at oreillys yesterday you've gotta really nice truck"

'daddy i wanna truck like that when im older' (lil boy down the road was behind me wiht his daddy and i was in front lol) so tryin to keep up with school...(except geometry, the teacher doesnt teach us anything....she gives us the answers and we go for the best, shes got 8 piercing and married to a black man, im not racist thats just wierd..im switching classes)

Pull off your door panels. You should see the original holes.

Best bet I think is see if some one can get you a paper trace with some measurements of their door where the holes are, that would save you making a mess of the paint.

Just snapped this for you to give you an idea.
Though someone may chime in with more detail.

Re: how do i mount stock mirrors over un original paint..

They vibrate a little, but not so bad that it bothers me.
I've thought about filling the arm with some lead bird shot to make em more solid, but it hasn't bugged me enough yet to put that idea in action.
Some people have said that theirs drive em nuts, but I think since my truck is so heavy and the suspension is pretty soft I don't see too much distortion.

Re: how do i mount stock mirrors over un original paint..

I have the same mirrors and they move/vibrate very very little.

Use a small magnet combined with the measurements and you should be able to locate the bondo holes.... or the PO fixed it correctly and welded them shut!
