Help with tailgate

Anyone have any ideas about these brackets?

I will try do dig mine out today. I don't have part numbers for these, so that doesn't help. I am willing to bet, because they all look so much alike, the pics won't help and allow us to compare...the changes were minor.

Ya I think 73-75 was the same and then 76 I think they changed them a little bit but I dont know if you would notice the change in a picture or not so depending if your gate is 73 - 75 or the newer one you have to have the right arms for it and i believe the ones you have are for 76 and up

Yeah I think you are right. Because they just dont seem to fit my early gate.

OK, here are my '73 TG straps. Not sure if you can tell a difference by the pics...but it is worth a shot. Also, I measured them from end to end...pulling the straps as far apart as I could. Check yours to see if the length is the same.

After comparing the pics, it looks as if the latching portion of the bracket is different. Mine appear to have a larger "ear' if you will, where yours looks smoother. This could be the difference.

I am not selling mine, but like I told you, I can pick up a set at a JY I visit every now and then. Not sure when I will get there...it is 1.5 hours away.

That is the difference, as well as the ones I have are about a 1/2 inch longer where it connects to the gate. I believe that length will make all the difference in my install. Thank You for the very detailed pics. Amazing! Let me know when you make a trip to the JY. I will look around here in the meantime.
