ECE drop spindles and disk brake conversion install was easy until...**PICS**

Well...the install was pretty much easy...and step by step.....alot of good tips on this site...however there was something I wasn't made aware of.....

I go to put my Orignal wheels on and they rub the calipers...8*(

Disk break conversion will not work with original wheels... 8*(

My 69' c-10 has 88,000 and its a stocker.....guess i will be getting new wheels before I had planned

Yep the original 15x6.5" wheels hit the calipers.
Look for 73-87 4x4 plain steel wheels. These should work fine and look the same with your hubcaps installed. The should also be relatively cheap.

That's info that does need to be included upon purchasing the components IMO. The OE 60's truck wheels fit drums only. Bummer you found out the hard way.

Did your plans include swapping to different wheels eventually?

(i bought them b/c i have beauty rings and baby moons to fit)

scoti- yes...i am eventually gonna bag it and get new wheels...but that wasn't gonna be till next year...I my friend has 2 c-10s and he's letting me borrow his wheels (one is stripped down to the frame) till I find some i can use......im not gonna buy the good stuff till my trucks ready...thanks for your help

Okay now... you can't just post that you've installed these pieces and now post some pictures of the end result.

Congrats on the install, and I ran into a similar issue with my '69. Luckily I had a set of rally wheels which provided the right offset for the disc brake upgrade, but I did attempt to install a stock 15x6.5" rim and had the same end result. I'm reading into your posts, but it sounds like you kept the 6-lug setup, is that right?

Ok...I know how you all like pics....Several of the brakes...several of the new stance...notice the grease pen inspection.... 960 BL and 960 R...anyone know what that means?...and a few projects in motion (my buddies)

We ran into issues while installing my proportioning valve because I didn't run the booster. So... we had to do some bracket/line modifications.

I got rally's on mine I assume they aren't original so do you guys think they'll rub?

Rally are not original to the 67-72 era of trucks, but they definitely look good. As far as determining if they will fit, there's a few things we would need to know before answering that question....

Are you keeping the 6-lug setup or swapping to 5-lug?

If sticking with the 6-lug setup, a 15x8 6-lug rally will work, but you run the risk of possibly rubbing the inner fender (considering your are going to lower your truck). A 15x7 6-lug rally (which does exist) would be your better choice (if you lower your truck) as it will pull your wheels back in.

See when you add front discs to a 67-70 truck/burb/blazer, it will widen the track 1.5" across the front. If you will be keeping your narrower rearend (67-70 early) then your front wheels would be wider than the rear wheels.

Yeah I plan on sticking with 6 lug. Do you think it will rub fenders with 15X8 rally's with only a 3" drop up front? I was looking for 2" disc spindles and 1" coils.
