Replacement of Rockers Questions
After driving my truck through 6 Utah winters I now need new rocker panels. I did my best to protect and clean the truck through the winter but slowly the rust grabbed hold in the rocker area. Then last winter things really got away from me and I now need new rockers. I bought new outer rockers and kick panel patches for inside the cab as they have an inch gab that rusted out, before I even got the truck. Iin the last 10 years these kick panels have not rusted any further but I want to lose the panel covers and get things taken care of there as well. When I was younger I helped my dad put new rockers on but can’t remember much of how the inner stuff looked. At that time we left the kick panels alone and covered them with panels. Now I want to go all out and get all of the rust cut out and new panels in place. Is their a way to coat the insides of the parts with POR 15 or something to help keep the new metal good? I am shaving my cowl, will that help any? I don’t plan on constant winter driving anymore, but it will be driven quite a lot so I want to get it as protected as possible. If anyone has had this work done how much did it cost you? Any advice or lessons learned would be great as well.

Re: Replacement of Rockers Questions
check out the FAQ section and look for Rocker Replacement 101 (or do a search for that title)
