how do i hook up a vaccume guage
how do i hook up a vaccume guage to my 77 chevy with a stock 350?

Find a vacuum port on the carb or intake. I never looked under the hood to see where the line was hooked to, just cut the hose when I took the gauge out.

Uh, not quite! you will more then likely need non-ported vacuum! find where the PCV filter is connected and use that line. or there is a T fitting behind your carb for your trans *just saw that you had a manual trans so it might not be there but look anyway.*and what not and that is full vacuum. using just any vacuum port will give you false reading!

Hooking it directly to a fitting on the intake is the best thing to do so you get a true and accurate intake vaccuum reading. There may very well be an unused & plugged vaccuum port on the intake behind your carb that you can pull and install a hose fitting into.
