Side Exit exhaust pictures
I am wanting to exit my new exhaust system out the side in front of the rear wheels from the headers with rectangular tips.
Does anyone have pictures of how I or my muffler shop might accomplish this with routing it and what the best type of muffler to use. I am wanting to go with Magnaflow mufflers round or oval due to the routing? Thanks in advance for any pictures or thoughts |

I am running long tube headers with 2.5 inch pipe thru 40 series flowmaster musfflers they exit in front of my rear wheel. I have been running this set up for about 4 years. they are really loud but you get use to it check out the pics

Re: Side Exit exhaust pictures
Mines a 4x4 so theres quite a bit of difference...but this gives you an idea how I did it....
Had a muffler shop bend me up the pieces I needed.....I made them all a little extra long and then trimmed them as needed when I did the fitment I gave the muffler shop some bent up 1/8" or 3/16" rod that I used as a template to get the correct routing Scored some of the HD hangers from the same muffler shop Completed

Re: Side Exit exhaust pictures
I had this set up on a 71long bed I had and I was very happy with the performance and sound,Lucky for me I knew the guy I bought my current truck from and he Liked my old exhaust as well. So this is how mine was when I got the truck from the PO and I plan on going back to the same set up when I have the money to get my exhaust redone since I Bought long tube hedders. Heres a picture and a small video of it at Idle before I tore into the truck and changed to longtubes. Wish it were a better video all I had at the time was my cell phone...It's a Bullet Performance Round Muffler Sounds great when you get on it..

Re: Side Exit exhaust pictures
Don't leave them dumping under the truck. Moisture from them will cause them to rust. Mine dumped just behind the cab and between the frame rails for years and it is showing. This was pretty easy to accomplish.

Re: Side Exit exhaust pictures
I have mine coming out before the rear wheels. Sorry no pics. Make sure the mufflers are not under the cab when you run your exhaust. They can cook the rubber fuel line under there.
