Max size wheels and tires 60 Short Narrow?

I would like to know the widest wheel tire set up that will fit on a 60 short narrow. I would like to get some chrome ralleys, and want them as wide as possible. I plan on lowering the truck and don't want the rear fenders to hit.

I've heard of guys stuffing 10" wides under there... We have 8's in the back of the '65 fleetside with 275/60r15s and it still has plenty of room...

The reason I ask is that the wheels i have now (Ansons) will hit with a load. let alone lowered. I think they are 10" reverse.

Thumbs up Re: Max size wheels and tires 60 Short Narrow?

This is what I was running years ago!

15X10 Smoothies

Then 15X10 Cragers later....
Still have those Cragers with new tires on them......
Of course I had that 8.8 Rear End under her at the time.

Re: Max size wheels and tires 60 Short Narrow?

Following are a couple of shots of what fit under the fenders of my 1960 short step:
The 1st is an 8" Weld Wheel with zero offset and 235/70x15 Radial T/A's. The 2nd is 7" TTO mags, also with zero offset running 255/70x15 Firestones. Mine gets used as a truck, and the tires clear both sides even when fully loaded.

Yeah this is the issue I have with my 15x10s and 295/50s. It's close enough that you could maybe roll the fenders though. There are wider rear fenders available... I just can't find the link anymore. I believe they're 3" wider.
