custom hood hinges! help!!
i am buildin a 71/67 chev truck. the front was zed 4 in and i put 3" drop spindles with bags and 22" wheels. now i need to make some hood hinges. i woul like to reverse the hood to open from the back. any info or pics would help! thanx!

Seems some folks have used the forward-opening hood hinge setup from a late 80's Buick. My son used to have an '89 Park Avenue, so I know that model has 'em. Better hurry to the wrecking yards as some of these may have been in the Cash For Clunkers program and won't be long for the parts-taking.

on my other brand truck that was a 56 I used BMW parts but be aware its a ***** to work on the motor once you have a reverse hood the dam thing is always in the way

I like the grill
Most late 80's buick's have the reverse opening hood I used to own a '88 buick park avenue They are a good choice as well because the hoods of those cars are heavy, so the hinges are designed for the weight. Search around, I know i've seen some buil threads on this. |
