Re: help from guys who put aluminum wheels on there trucks
I use the ET-style lug nuts to make sure I get enough thread engagement.
You'd be surprised how many are running regular acorn style nuts... scary. Rg

Re: help from guys who put aluminum wheels on there trucks
yea I tried a set of 20's awhile back and they fit kinda goofy thats why I'm asking....a deal on a set of wheels isn't really worth it to me If I need to buy $200 worth of studs and nuts?? I'll slap another set of sneakers on my rallies and call it good enough....I mean My truck is a beater with the rat rod look anyway so the ralley fit the look but hey who doesn't like earings on a pig!!!

I had to put longer studs on my front. With the stock studs there was about 2 threads of engagement. I planned on putting on longer studs for drag racing any way.

Re: help from guys who put aluminum wheels on there trucks
yea not sure what your rules are there but @ new ENgland dragway you can't use acorn type they want to see the engagmnet of the nut and stud and if you run 13 or less they want a full nut plus 3 threads...I ran into that with my drag S10 ended up cutting all the nuts and restudding.....but that was in the low 12's so??

Something to remember. Lugnuts will come loose on alumium wheels. They need to be torqued to specs a few times over the first hundred miles or so.
