What's the preferred ride height?
I'm doing my air system now and need to know what the stock and preferred ride height is? I'll rolling with 18" in the front and 20" rims in the back.

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
I don't think there is necessarily a preferred ride height as much as it is a pounds of pressure in the bags. Ride it around until you find a sweet spot that you like. It could be 70lbs of pressure, it could be 90lbs of pressure. It's what you like.
I think a good start point would be around 80lbs front, try 40lbs at rear. You may like more, or less pressure. Mess around before you get the front aligned. Then ride with that pressure. |

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
you really need to set up your air springs based on the manufactures "ride height". Like 70K stated, the air pressure will depend on the weight of the vehicle. But to have proper suspension travel, the air springs must be close to designed installed ride height when driven to keep from bottoming out & have good ride quality. install the air springs per the manufactures installed ride height & you will be happy with the results

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
Are you step notching the rear and what are you going to be using leafs, 3 bar,4 bar? I just started making my brackets for a trailing arm suspension with either a panhard bar of triangle link. I allready did a c notch but I don't think it will go low enough. I would like to see some pics of your setup.

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
I'm going the opposite way but only as much as necessary, 4" axle lift over stock 2wd and 3/4" cab/bed/radiator support to get room to route cables and wire between the frame and cab, and gain some clearance at the trans.

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
I'm at 100 psi up front and the crossmember is about 4 inches from the ground. I don't bottom out unless I'm going up or down a steep driveway, then lust put a littal more air to clear going up. I found for my truck anything above 100 psi riding around towm makes the ride to stiff.

Re: What's the preferred ride height?
So for the fronts, anything from 80 to 100 PSI and ~40 PIS for the back and go from there, I'll measure from the ground to crossmember and from the ground to the bottom of the parrallel bars.
