'87 Fuel pump question

I have power delivery issues to the passenger side pump. The switch seems to be "switching" as I got the drivers side to run on either setting by switching plugs. But there is no power at the passenger side plug when the switch is "switched".

Help!!! I need a wiring diagram and couldn't find one by searching.

HELP!!!

Re: '87 Fuel pump question

It doesn't appear to have a wiring diagram for a TBI 2 tank truck just a regular carb. truck.

Re: '87 Fuel pump question

Best I can tell, other than the obvious, is that the switch in the dash IS bad. I also have removed the passenger tank because the fuel lines and ground were all undone from the top of the tank...things that make you go "oh $hit". I dropped the tank, which turned out to be full of gas, or some terrible smelling brew that weighed about 125#. I got the pump and float assembly out to find that they were completely destroyed from the broken down gas/kerosene junk in the tank. So, I have to have a pump/sending unit assembly, a switch for the dash, and, OH YEAH, a new tank because the stock ones insides are coming apart. AWESOME!!!

Re: '87 Fuel pump question

It actually looks like O'Reilly's is the cheapest source for the tank @ $113, but the pump assembly is $250...OUCH!!! I think I am going to slow down on the passenger tank until I finish the 5.3 swap. I will go ahead and get the tank and possibly the float/pump assembly minus the pump and get the correct high pressure pump later.

Re: '87 Fuel pump question

anytime man. glad i could help. i'd wait on the pump since your doing the swap and the sending unit is only around $100 + $80 for the high psi pump you'll be saving money. good time to start piecing together the fuel system for the swap.

Re: '87 Fuel pump question

I got the tank, sending unit, tank selector switch, and even went ahead and got a new A/C Delco pump and sock (I won't be doing my swap until first of year...probably) shipped to my house for less than I could buy the pump assembly locally. Rock Auto...well...Rocks
