Re: Looking at a 67, need help
I`d be glad to pay $1,200 for that truck.I`d keep it 100% original. That thing would be a great truck to restore as stock. It`s all there and it`s a fine example of a no nonsense 4wd truck. The color and 292 make it an awesome candidate for me.

Re: Looking at a 67, need help
Congrats on the buy. My dad and I just got a our 67 K20 this past spring. It has a 250 and it made me fall in love with the old Chevy I6's. Its droan kind of reminds me of my dad's old WWII GI GMC he had when I was a kid.

Re: Looking at a 67, need help
Buyer's remorse officially set in today!!! Got it loaded on the trailer which showcased all the bad. I told my wife that my next project would not be in as bad of shape as the Chevelle was. Well, the truck is just as bad if not worse. But then she reminds me that if I wanted a 67 4x4 1/2 ton I didn't have much of a choice. She's great!!! She understands and supports my sickness!

Re: Looking at a 67, need help
Support from the wife is a definite plus because it's hard to get her to understand the "I've just got to get it fixed" bug. I've got 4 kids around your kid's ages so putting up $1500 for an extra thing that will cost money was a tough sell.
Some kind of voodoo must have been built into these trucks. I never thought I even wanted a truck until I saw my '67 sitting in a driveway full of old carpet and scrap wood. Inside of the cab was full of garbage, it smelled like old chinese food inside. When I took it for a test drive (early evening), it had no working taillights, flashers, instrument panel lights and the seat was broken on the driver's side. Took another $1500 or so to get the safety certificate. Just put a new battery in it last weekend. Hit a pot hole and need to fix the muffler and pipes now. Gas gauge stopped working too. Don't ask me why I bought something in such bad shape. I found more stuff wrong with it in the months to follow. Everyday I look at it, I notice something else that "needs fixing". But, on those sunny days when I take it for a ride and people stop me to talk about it, it seems to be worth it so far. Good luck with yours. This forum is a real information source for these trucks. Have a great time fixing it.
