?rear end swap?
I have a 72 swb stepside 5 lug and a 67 swb fleetside 6 lug. The 72 has a nice little 327 in it with a few extras but the 67 is a six cylinder that I want to turn into a daily driver (mostly highway driving at 65+mph) and I want a little more performance out of the 72. The 72 has a 350th with limited slip 3.07 while the 67 has a 3spd with an open diff 3.73. I was wondering if I could just swap the guts from one to the other and just swap the ring gear off the open to the l/s so I can keep the l/s in the 72. I guess my main question is if the pinion depth would work if i swapped them keeping up with shims and all from one to the other and just buy to new crush sleeves. Are the housings the same? I don't want to have to deal with setting pinion depth. Been there done that and hated it!

Re: ?rear end swap?
What about the housing itself. I can shim side to side without much trouble but pinion depth is a pain.
