1966 custom c-10 build
we bought this truck from my neighbor that was moving several years ago for $250!!! it is a 1966 c-10 "custom" and has the original 327 in it. it had the build sheet under the seat and i am trying to piece it back together. And it is a very highly optioned truck. What does a "custom" truck entail???
it has it's rust and "jimmy-rig" issues but thats allright. im going to put a 4bbl inake and carb on, also an hei distributor and of course a tune up. it needs a water pump all new coolant hoses and maybe a radiator. also i was going to wash the windows but they are severely stained with hard water deposits, what is a good way to get the stains off? i allready tried windex, dish soap+water, and straight vinegar with no results.

Use that Jet Dry stuff for dish washers. It takes off hard water stains pretty well.

Re: 1966 custom c-10 build
That's a pretty decent truck you have......nice unmolested dash. That's nice it has the 327 too.
I've found that the "Custom Cab" option doesn't necessarily mean the package contains the same parts from truck to truck. I'm not really sure just what all the choices were within the "Custom cab" option. It looks as though your truck has most all the CC options....grill, bumper, side trim, sail panels, windshield trim.

How do the amber lights in your grill work? Do the ones on the front of the hood still work? Looks like you got a good base to build on.

Re: 1966 custom c-10 build
i believe those are fog lights, they are hooked up to a switch in the cab. and yes the ones on the hood still work. to bad the person who did that way back when cut the grille.
