'69-72 Headlight Buckets
This might be a dumb question, but...
Is there a D/S (drivers side) and a P/S (passenger side) headlight bucket on a '69-'72? I was working in the headlight area of my truck tonight, and after replacing the bulbs, I noticed the P/S bulb wouldn't seat correctly and when it did, it was turned a little more counterclockwise than the D/S. When comparing the two buckets, I noticed that on the bucket itself, there's one "tab" that contains a slot for the adjuster and the headlight retainer ring screw. (Pictured below) When comparing these, I noticed that each bucket has the letter "L" which led me to believe I had a the incorrect bucket on the P/S. After a quick call to lolife99, we compared my set to a set on one of his trucks and noticed that on his P/S bucket it had the letter "M." Now by this time I'm totally lost... Here's the conclusion we came too.... there are two different buckets; a right vs. left. If you look in the center of the bucket there's a circle cutout for the wiring and the back of the headlight to pass through, and on that circle, there's another cut out which should be facing up. If you review the shot of my P/S bucket, it is facing towards the radiator; which leads us to believe I have a D/S bucket on my P/S. Can someone confirm or deny this claim? Thanks guys!

Yes...you are correct...there is a left and a right and yes you have a D/S on your P/S...only way they could get the spring to hook up was to turn it 90 degrees.....
