WTF 2wd Blazer PreRunner?

Check this out! Not mine, just wanted to share with you. Bada$$ but not necessarily what I would do with a 2wd.

Reminds me of the guys that take a 67-69 Camaro and use them for dirt track racing.

Looks very nicely done, for what it is! I need a truck like that, like I need another hole in my head.

Re: WTF 2wd Blazer PreRunner?

Very nicely done. I believe that Vic Hickey built several 2wd Prerunners back in the day too. He also built the oldsmobiles for James Garner (which remind me of the comment about the Camaros)

Re: WTF 2wd Blazer PreRunner?

Well Hello...

And yes that's my Blazer. It was built in the mid 80's to pre-run Baja which it Pre-ran the 1000 twice and 500 once.

I just bough it from a buddy about 4 months ago.

I decided not to sell it due to my Wife told me I better keep it... Plans include full Fiberglass bed side's more cage work. I want it to be able to enter car shows and that night go and rail the desert sand. If I'm not on this site I will be on www.reno4x4.com I'm a mod on this local 4x4 Forum.

airsierra, that is a very cool Blazer. I had considered a PreRunner at some point, but was not sure how to go about it. Your Blazer and wife both rock!!!

Re: WTF 2wd Blazer PreRunner?

Awesome work but in my eyes the blazer has been destroyed! I'm a purist i rather see them put backtogether, not torn apart, but again the level of craftsmanship in the blazer looks top notch just wish they didN'T pick a 69-72 to do it to!

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not really familiar with desert racing. What's the advantage of a 2WD setup over 4WD for this application?

SPEED 4x4 slows you down and limits travel up front, 4x4 is not needed on most the trails, just a good locker in the rear! keep in mind your sailing over bumps at 80-90-100 mph, a straight axle would get bent or broken in a heart beat!
