Looking for braces

I have looked at LMC and Chevy Duty with no result. I need the X braces that go on the radiator support and the two rods that bolt to the rad support and down to the splash apron. Who sells these?

Re: Looking for braces

On 1/2 ton models the X-braces are welded to the radiator support (all aftermarket suppliers of the whole radiator core support show it like that too) except for the lower horizontal brace which is threaded at the ends and secured with nuts. The Assembly Manual also shows the 3600 using the same part # (3707011) as the 3100 for the radiator core support on sheets 2.06 through 4.00 . That does seem odd to me though.

Doesn't answer your question I guess, but I don't think your going to find the X-braces if they came welded on. As for the bottom brace I just used threaded rod on mine. Mine was also missing the two top brace supports that connect the fenders to the hood lock cover (best way I can think to describe it). I never found those either and simply used parts from hardware stores.

The funny thing is on my son's 51 Suburban there are no X-braces or horizontal rod. And it doesn't appear like they were accidentally removed or broken.

Re: Looking for braces

Robin is right, but I think their rivied, or braded on. You will have to find a used radiator support and cut them off . I dont have them on my truck, it was in the way of the air cond. condensor.

Re: Looking for braces

Thanks guys, looks like I'll have to jerryrigg. Same ole same ole.
BTW I don't trust the assembly manual for front sheetmetal work as it covers the 54/55 1st.
Also in talking to guys over at stovebolt.com every model truck seemed to have a different type of brace for the rad.
It took them till 552nd to figure it out. LOL

Sometimes seems that way, but I also often wonder whether it is simply a matter of location of assembly and the various suppliers used by that particular plant. After all they do precede ISO900* standards by quite a few decades and don't imagine specs were anywhere near as stringent as they would be now.
