what is it?

I have a 84 that was a diesel and now i'm converting it to gas.When i got it there were some parts missing under the dash.So I looked under the doner trucks dash by the brake peddle it's an 82/83 and there was a small sliver box.It's about an 1'' thick 4'' wide and 6'' to 8'' long it's has one plug with 8 wires that is black it pluges in to the top of it.What is it?????

Why in the world would you convert it? I understand if it is a 5.7 though.

Can you take a picture of it?

Does it have cooling fins on it? It sounds like it might be the control module for the intermittant wipers.

I'm swaping it because it's blowen and we have 5 350s and it's free. And there are no cooling fins on it. I will post pic. tomorow.
