I run two different vortec motors, one a 415hp 383, and have never had sealing problems. The bolts on the end torque down the only places needing it. Theres nothing in the middle to seal really tightly. Remember, theres no exaust crossover.

Ive been threw at least 23 sets of gaskets from pulling the intakes on both engines, again with no problems. I even overtorqued a intake once due to faulty torque wrench. I smashed the bosses where the bolt head clamps down pretty bad. The intake was fine and still seals great
The only thing I would recommend is the re-usable gaskets from GM.
