Re: manual steering box?

Be aware that the manual steering in these trucks is a strong man's option. My dad's greatest regret on our 81 3/4 ton was that manual steering. The smallish steering wheel makes it very difficult to turn if sitting still, easpecially on concrete. Wide or tall tires make it worse.
BTW the complainer was 6'6" 300# farmer who would happily throw 90# hay bales over head all day. Ans the truck was the lightest weight possible, L6 with 3 speed manual and no options. Just to give you an idea of what you are in for.

I agree 100% with this statement. Thought I would go this route to clean up the compartment alittle, but regretted doing it from the start. Didn't take long to switch back to good old power assist. I'll even give the box and arm to you if you want them. We go to OKC often and and wouldn't mind bringing them to pass along. At least if you tried it and didn't like it you wouln't be out anything but your time to do it.
