Torn - really??? Must be young in your marriage... A good woman wouldn't make you choose... she might roll her eyes and not really understand but she wouldn't make you choose.

You should do what feels right! especially if it has the number 68 in it...Haaa

Ask a high but outrageous price and if it doesn't sell - Karma!

Re: Help me choose !!!!! Im so torn

Okay, here is the question. I want to say keep the '68, but I have to be a good friend and ask the important questions. Don't hate me!
1: How much of a bind are you in, and could the '68 bring more money right now if you need it to?
2: The '77 is almost done, that means less money down the road for a running driving truck.
3: Which will bring more in its current state, and how much do you need?
4: Can you sell the wheels off both the '68 and the 77 and get some cheap rallys for now? Will that get you out of the bind without giving up vehicles?
5: Do you need a Daily driver right this second? Is the that what the truck is going to be NOW? If so, you may need to keep the '77.

Oh and one more thing, if you sell the '77 and have cash left over, don't spend it on the '68! Don't do bodywork, etc. Put it aside, so if you get in a bind again, you won't have to make these kinds of decisions again.

Now with all that said, I sure hope you can keep the '68!!

If she likes the 68, and I would say she does because she was sanding with you. She probably likes you a little bit as well. I say sell the 77. Your marraige will be much happier.

Re: Help me choose !!!!! Im so torn

while I was mostly playing with my smart A comment, it is nice to know she isn't one of "those" spouces. I hate hearing someone being told to get rid of something with no good reason.
Shawn has a good point. If the 68 is worth more coin, then it may be the one to sell.
But, if you only need a few more bucks to get by, and you want the 68 more than the square truck, then you can sell the square one.

If money is tight, then you certainly don't want two money pits. Keep the projects down to one at a time until you have enough extra coin to not have to stress over money. Money issues are the single biggest reason for divorce.

AH-HA! so now we know the rest of the story.......sell all the trucks, buy some basic transportation and restart when last kid turns 18 or graduates college.

You're asking this question to the wrong set of guys. Loose the '77 and keep the '68.

You can ALWAYS replace the '77.

Re: Help me choose !!!!! Im so torn

One more note. My older brother used to tell me never to get rid of something you have/like because of a woman. They make you change your life around and then there is no guarantee that they will stay and then if they leave, you are out all of your stuff.

Good advice, but hard to follow. My wife HATES my '67. Why? Because it is mine and it is nice. She hated my '97 Dodge truck too and "made" me sell it. I got the '67 shortly after and never again will I sell a vehicle becuase someone else wants it gone. I will only sell it when money issues become a problem and selling it will make a true differance.

Re: Help me choose !!!!! Im so torn

This is one of the most hilarious threads I have ever seen on this board. Oh, thank god I'm a bachelor! Well let's see... the 77 is loaded down with smog crap, isn't(IMHO) built anywhere as well, has poorer styling, is nowhere near as collectible, isn't as easy to work on. nowhere nearly as unique, not eligible for the best message board in the world... I don't know... I guess I would keep the 68.
