found a project on C.L.

Saw a pro-street project on c.l. and took a 3.5hr ride with my trailer. Poor guy started a frame up pro-street build and got sick and decided to sell everything. He had the frame sanblasted and painted but it was left outside and got a little scuzzy but no rust. He had someone cut and narrow the rear frame rails so he could stay with leaf springs. I checked all the welds and it was total overkill on bracing and boxing.... that's how I would have done it. I measured it every which way I know how and it was a perfect job. The guy included 5 huge boxes of every nut and bolt and where it goes. Spindles, springs, brakes, rotors, ps pump, everything I needed except a cab. The best part is it came with brand new GM fenders l/r and brand new 89-91 core support, an entire stepside bed that was taken appart but the only bad part was the surface rust on those huge stepside fenders. My favorite part of all this was the BRAND NEW WELD DRAGLITES with MT 31X18.50 and front skinnies too. One more thing.... a narrowed 9" housing with axles and non posi center section with 3.50 gears.....

GUESS HOW MUCH???????

Damn, the ones I haul home on a trailer are usually rusted out and falling apart.

Re: found a project on C.L.

I paid $900 his asking price. Reason= Weld 15X14 $255ea. 15X6 $200ea.
MT 31X18.5/15 $250ea. front tires $100 ea. All NEW never used with lugs and centercaps adds up to..... $1600!!! That alone was my deciding factor

Sweet deal!

You going to use it or sell it? I would sell the 15's and run a set of the M/T 20's. Those would rock your ride....

Re: found a project on C.L.

I think I'm gonna build a leaf spring stepside pro-street. I'm curious about those caltracs. My 86 is waiting for a moser-60 and that will see 20X15's in the rear. Only so much $$$ to go around. I can probably build the stepside for less than $5-7k just for fun.

x2.

I have seen as low as 1.45 60's with my Cal-Trac's on a 275/60 drag radial and even faster on slicks.
