Big Block Identification Help

My block casting is 3969854 GM 8 ( is it a 2 or 4 bolt ? for future build up possibility)

My front passenger stamp in front is T I 1 I 8 TBH

Manifold Casting is 3955287 66 2

It has no air pump

It has a California Q - Jet ? 7040509 QS ( what is QS for )

Mortec states it is a 69 396 2 or 4 bolt

Why would it not be a 402?

Is it correct for the model / year ?

Mortec also shows the casting number as:

3969854= 402 70-72... 2 or 4 bolt.

The front pad stamp further identifies it as:

TBH = 1970 Truck 402 310HP L-47 10, 20, 30



Intake comes back as:

3955287 454 / 390 70-71 Vette, LS-5 Cast Iron, Oval Port, Lo-Rise, Q-jet carb
3955287 402 / 350 70-71 Nova, Chevelle, Camaro Cast Iron, Oval Port, Lo-Rise, Q-jet carb

Not able to help you on the "QS" on your Quadrajet..
