Barn find of sorts

I have a friend who works for a local electric utility co-op who stopped by the other day. He saw that I have accumulated a lot of 71-72 Chevy trucks. he was looking at my latest, a swb stepside and said "They have a bunch of fenders like that in one of the barns, do you want them?" I said "How many is "a bunch"?" His reply was "probably three or four pairs". I almost dropped my teeth! He said that the co. bought the trucks, pulled the fenders off, then installed utility bedsides that had tool boxes, then stored these away in the rafters for over 30 yrs.! He brought the 1st set by a while back, which I have sold to and I got the other three pairs this past weekend. I had to buy them, but I got a fair deal. I am going to pass this great fortune on, and give my fellow board members first shot before I post them for sale on Ebay or locally. They are for sale in the parts forum along with detailed pics.

Re: Barn find of sorts

I also have a pretty nice swb step bed w/ no spare tire cut out that I would be willing to trade for a nice SWB fleet bed, in the Austin Texas area. It's not for sale out right,as I do not want to get stuck with no bed at all, but if there is someone out there with a nice SWB fleet bed that is looking for a step bed, here I am...

I'd be interested in a set when you figure out what you want for them.

Re: Barn find of sorts

to avoid any hard feelings, if you are interested in buying these fenders, you will need to reply to the parts ad titled "68-72 stepside fenders for sale, no spare cut out".

Reviving the dead thread!!! I still have three sets. $300 each for a driver side, $200 each for a pass side, $400 for a pair. No shipping, but I can work with you if you are in Texas.

Re: Barn find of sorts

Any specific reason for "no shipping"? In other words, if I need a pair and I am prepared to cover the cost of shipping to Florida, you would not do it?

Wow! What a find. I guess you've figured out by now that they are all off of longbeds.

closed. No need to double post, if it is advertised as a for sale on here, and in the correct forum, then it is basicly a double post.
