Greetings!

Hello Folks! I am new (to this board and the mechanical realm as well) from Aurora, CO.

Stumbled upon this board surfing the web to answer many of my questions that I believe will be answered right here in this website!

I just bought a 1971 Chevrolet Fleetside Pickup. I just fell in love with it when I saw it, and have decided to tackle a DIY restoration. I am in no rush, and I am hoping to learn a lot more about car repair and body work throughout the whole endeavour. I will post pictures as soon as I purchase a camera. I was so excited that I totally forgot about how I was going to document my project, and I see that all of you love to see projects take shape.

The only thing I have done so far is take the bed off, and start to strip the paint, along with a little bit of disassembly on the bed to get all the wood off.

Thank you all for reading this and I hope to earn a few friends along the way!

Robert

Re: Greetings!

Ohhh and I don't see many '71 projects in the recent threads. Anyone on here know of a good 1971 Fleetside project thread I could browse on here? (looking for pictures)

Re: Greetings!

to the board from Mid-MO!!!

You'll find this place to become your second home. There's tons of information, friends, parts, .... and so much more.

Glad to have you aboard Robert! The great thing about the 67-72 body style is that a build thread for a '68 will contain information for your '71 build. With only minor changes occurring during the 67-72 era in terms of body panels, and accessories, the main structure of the trucks are pretty well the same. The parts will even interchange amongst the years, so jump head first into the build section and get busy, we need some progress pics.

Good luck with the build!
