Changing cabs

I am going to look at a supposedly rust free cab with front and back glass tomorrow. My cab has rust in all of the usual spots and it would be nice to just change cabs and not have to do a bunch of bodywork. What would be the best way to get this thing home if it is what they say. It is about 20 miles from the house. Thanks guys.

Re: Changing cabs

I had an extra cab in the bed of my LWB for a while until I was able to clear a spot for it.
the cab was surprisingly light and two guys could move it into and out of the bed with the trans tunnel fitting over one inner fender. BUT mine was totally gutted, if yours still has a lot of parts on it, it may be much heavier.

I wouldn't consider this my FIRST choice (would have been nicer with a small trailer or small U-haul) but you CAN do it. Just be careful of scratches to the bed.

Re: Changing cabs

Thanks guys I looked at it today and I am going to pass on it. The roof looks like a wrecking ball was dropped on it. At this point I would rather weld on my cab than do bodywork on another one.
