If it had been my dads. I would restore it just like he had it. Just my opinion is all. You build it like you want.

Cool, looks like a good start. That 400 small block looks fresh too. How many miles on it?

Re: pics of my 68 LWB

Well, in all honesty it's your truck...do what you'd like. In my opinion with you already having a 4x4 and the heirloom idea around the truck I'd keep it a 2wd. Plus, it's probably less work to swap into into 4 x 4 status I would assume?

Re: pics of my 68 LWB

well for one its gunna be cheaper haha, and a couple ppl posted about leaving it the way my dad drove it and it made me think that i would be a nice kinda tribute to his legacy and love for the 67-72 chevy trucks. another reason is that being still in college it will easier on gas. i would be doing the frame swap myself and i think that will extend the time that it takes to restore her. but i am goin to switch to disc brakes (have a couple 71-72 trucks to get parts from) and beef up the rear-end and rear suspension for towing.

Re: pics of my 68 LWB

Yeah, I hear ya. My truck belonged to my late grandfather and then to my uncle and now to me. They both kept it original and now I'm doing it different but I think they'd both want me to just have fun with it. Just the fact that you're going to do something with it because it was his is tribute!
