OK guys, once again I am turning to you. I have replaced my power window motors and put the windows and tracks back in place with new window felts. The driver's side goes up and down perfectly fine, but he passenger side seems to bind in the track and won't go up much past half way. It gets about half way up and then forces the new felt too far into the track, which squeezes it and therefor stops the window from going up any further. I have tried undoing the bottom tracks on both sides to loosen them up, which seems to work, but as soon as I button them back up, same thing, no up. Has anyone out there got a fix or suggestion. I was so frustrated, that I packed it in today and sulked. Maybe tomorrow!

I feel your pain..... same boat same leak. I went new felt, motors/regulators and swithces. I am not sure that it is not in the switches. Mine started out like yours now nothing works like it should. Thinking about trying a relay in the door, will see if I can find the link.

If you took the felt out of the door would it still only go half way up? I so you could work from there.

With the felt out, the window works perfectly. It's only when the felt is in that there is a problem, like it's too tight or 2 upright channels are somehow too close together. I can't see how they could be bent though.
I'll keep swearing at it and trying it over and over again, and let you guys know how it goes!

It doesn;t sound right that the felt would be too strong for a power window to overcome. Did you try spraying some white grease in the channel/mechanism? Because the felt would be like holding your window from going up with only my pinky on the side of the glass.

I went through the same thing. I had to install the run channel for the vent window frame with the assembly out of the door. It is a royal PIA to get the channel seated properly into the frame. Once I did that the window goes up and down smoothly.

The tools used were a piece of wood (paint stir stick) and a super thin piece of stainless steel to work the edges into the channel. I came within minutes of driving to a junk yard and buying new vent assembly's that had decent run channel. Had I been on video tape it would have sounded like an episode of American Chopper.

thanks for the info s-10 fan. I thought that the felt just sits in the channel but maybe it's not that easy. Maybe I don't have it in all the way. I'll take it out again tonight and look at that more closely.

Took the whole damn thing apart one more time tonight. Tried putting a little bend in the channel to reduce the friction at that point. Piece of crap still doesn't want to go up! I'm thinking about trying 2 more scenarios tomorrow night. First, try a new motor, even though I just replaced this one it could be weak????who knows. Secondly, pull the regulator and the vent window from my donor truck and see if that works.
I didn't lube it tonight, though that could be my last resort. Don't really want to get the new stuff all slimy.
