New Project

While my 66 project is still in the works, I stumbled on this...
It has not driven since 1987 and I am not sure what way I am going to go with it yet.

Re: New Project

Nice score. Looks real solid. Is that 5 lug front and 6 lug rear?
If you search this section you'll find a bunch of S-10 swaps going on, and a few Mustang II projects.

It is 5 lug in front, not sure why as it has front drums that I think I heed to take the hub off to inspect the shoes so I have no idea what front it has. I think it is 5x4.75, but I am not sure...

Re: New Project

Are you sure it's not a Camaro or Monte Carlo or something front clip? How close have you inspected it?

It is not a clip, it has a solid axel with king pins (I know because I just lubed the front end, man there are a lot of zerks) so I don't know what drums are up there. It has a large spring on the inner side of the drum if that helps...

Re: New Project

I got it running and driving! New Tank, headlight wiring, tires, bulbs, window and wing glass, fuel pump, water pump, hoses, fluids, and rebuild the carb. I still have to figure out what I am going to do with it but at least it runs. I was a little suprised at how high the RPMs are doing 45 MPH, not sure I would want to try taking it on the so cal freeways...

Re: New Project

Front hubs are probably 53 Chevy car hubs.

that sounds correct, I had to pull the hub off to check the shoes, it still had ball type bearings.
