Just bought my first truck back 84 GMC
Ok so this is kinda a cool story. 8 years ago when i was 15 i bought a 84 gmc shrot box 4x4 and loved the truck i drove the heck out of it and sold it 4 years later. So i was riding in my grandpas 87 c10 2wd slammed and i thought of my old truck so i said if i ever see my old truck again i want to buy it back. Next day riding in my grandpas truck i see it and its for sale so we stopped and talked to the guy talked him down from 2500 to 1500 and bought it 2 days later. I am so happy to have it back but now there is alot to figure out. First all the emissions stuff needed to be hooked up thats done with the exception of the air tube that go to the headers. next it has a high idle so we did a rebuild on the carb and set timing still no luck idle's around 1600 in park or neutral and 900 in drive. and the cancer has to go! So i hoped you liked the story and if anyone has any insight to any of these problems that would be great

Very cool.
I also got my truck back (not my first one) after 18 years. You can read about the rebuild here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=342926 ...if you are interested. K

Get a can of carb cleaner and spray around the intake and vacume hoses. You might have a leak. Although I think a vacume leaks makes the idel go down.

Awesome story! Welcome aboard. Check out the Colorado forum on here. There is a great group of locals (if I do say so myself). We are having a cruise & gettogether in about 2 weeks. Love to have you come out. Congratulations on the purchase.
