Well, The '71 Is History…

-
Drove the '71 4x4 down to the All Truck Nats over the weekend, put the for sale sign on the windshield and sold it. It was nice not having to deal with Craigslist or eBad and the buyer and seller get to deal face to face. Some of the guys thought I sold it too cheap but when I decide to sell a vehicle I price it to sell, not to go on a fishing expedition. I was happy with what I got for it and made decent money on it so that's all that counts…

The first picture is of the truck being judged and the second is of the trophy for third place in my class, and the hat we received for best club participation.

Now it's time to finish the '70 short fleet. (third and forth pics)

Here are a couple of links to some of the pictures of the Nats:

Re: Well, The '71 Is History…

Well, congrats on the sale. It looks like the buyer needs to be congratulated for finding a fine truck to buy for what sounds like was a right price all around.

Sometimes I think the "you're selling it too cheap" guys are afraid that your price will cause their pipe dream price to have to come down to reality. Some of the prices I have seen on the net almost look like the guys is doing the "yea, honey I am really working at selling that truck but no one has the money to buy it".

Now keep us posted on the next project since progress should take a big jump in the near future.

Thanks Rob. We drove the truck back to Iowa. I need to do a couple of things to it before the new owner picks it up.

With all of the projects I already have that probably won't happen but it certainly was a nice project truck.

Leon,
What so you mean you sold that beautiful truck? if you were closer i would smack you ! lol just kidding. that is a beautiful ride and i greatly enjoyed your posts and pics of the build. The buyer of that truck is one lucky guy.
Did you let the trophy go with the truck or did you keep it?

Yeah, I did. You may not have to do that, my wife says I will be kicking myself later..... Thanks for the kudo's. I haven't decided about the trophy yet.
