I tried search and got 100 hits, which is the maximum it will return, meaning there were likely more threads.

13-9= 4" travel.....

your bags should be giving more than that. Have you relocated your upper mount to allow for a longer shock? I'll look for the part# for mine but without actually putting a tape on them I'm pretty sure I have more travel than that.

are you runnin eyes top and bottom or a stud type upper mount? I can check my x-reference book and see if I can find something for you.

Re: what shock ( for the millionth time??)

thanx I just checked again and 8.5 would stop me from bottoming them and 13 is as high as I can raise it...my shocks are in the stock location with eyes at both ends, I dont want to relocate unless I have to....I would even concider cutting the top the shock eye off then clipping and inch off the rod and rewelding them first

xxl I down loaded your spread sheet but do not have excel and can't open it but thanx

See attached PDF. Also note, the cross pin and cantilever mounts can be adapted to loop very easily by simply pushing out the metal parts and replacing with an appropriately sized bushing. Find the shock that meets your needs in terms of compression, extension, and damping first. Then go for eyelet info.

I found some shocks that seem to be working out, so far. The ones I used fit a 1950 Chrysler. They're some modifications that have to be made to the upper mount (the truck mount). I'm on my way to work, so give me a couple days to get some pictures for you.

Oh BTW, PLEASE DON'T do any welding on shocks!

Re: what shock ( for the millionth time??)

First off.... you do NOT want your shocks to bottom out first. You will definitely be replacing the shock mounts if that happens. You want it to bottom out on the bag or the bumpstops first. Second, it is very likely that you will only need a 3.5 to a 4" stroke shock. With the front suspension having a ratio close to a 2:1... that means you will end up with close to 7-8" of travel at the wheel.

Please don't do stuff like this. It's a horrendous idea, dangerous, and will be expensive when you crash, or have to replace broken parts.

That's what it's supposed to be... a reference for the end codes the spreadsheet uses.

Microsoft has a free downloadable Excel viewer, Google Apps has one as well. You've got to do some of the work here. I've provided you all the info you need... I can't hold the spoon too. *sigh*
