Wipers flip when I turn key in ignition!!!
Anybody have any ideas about this? It's done this for 9 years and it's about time I fix it. When I turn my car on the windshield wipers flip once. It's usually not a problem but every once in a while in GA we get a freeze with ice on the windshield. I'm worried that if it can't move it'll burn out the wiper motor. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Other guys might chime in, but I believe it is the wiper motor going bad when this happens.

it might be the switch or wiring conception before I rewired my truck and added a universal wiper switch I would hit a bump and the wipers would turn on for one revolution and stop

I have a feeling it could be either of those. I forgot to mention that if I do have the wipers on for a while and turn them off, sometimes minutes later, they'll go for another revolution. I wonder if it has something to do with the delay wiper knob/setup possibly.

LOL i thought mine were the only ones that did this! doesnt do it every time, but every once in a while, when I turn on the ignition, the wipers will start up. Ijust turn the wiper knob on then off and they stop.

at least yours work, mine have to be shut of in their lower position. wherever they are when i let go of the switch is where they stay.
