1" vs 1.25" rotors

How does one know which one you have? is the only way to tell is to measure?

Measure the thickness of the rotor. It's the only way to be sure.

The rotor should say the minimum thickness on it. A 1.25" rotor will have a min. thickness over 1". I think it says 1.20" or something.

Once you have seen the difference in the two you can tell just by looking at them.


But your best bet is to measure them or like mentioned above check for minimum specs.

If your truck is a pre 81, you likely have 1.25" rotors. The 1 inchers were more of an 80's thing.

1" rotors were introduced in 1981 as the Low Drag rotors. Everything prior as Jeff pointed out are 1.25".
