anyone looked at explorer sport trac hood hinges

has anyone tried to convert ford explorer sport trac hood hinges for a cowl mounted hinge ??

If you did that you would have to add gas shocks too, or a hood prop. I hate hood props they are always right were you need to be. If your going to change hinges I would use the 90s style Buick Lesabre ones and suicide the hood.
