1966 Chevy Glove Box Door Help

Hey everyone. I'm putting my 66 1/2 ton back together and I can't seem to remember how the glove box door mounts to the dash. I have two threaded holes in the bottom sides of the glove box door but nothing for them to latch onto in the dash. Can you guys help me out? I've done a search but couldn't find the topic.

Re: 1966 Chevy Glove Box Door Help

I have a 1960 GMC. I know the glove box liner is different so assume the glove box door is too, but if the mounting is the same - on the GMC the hinge attaches to the holes along the lower edge of the glove box door, and the other half of the hinge bolts to the bottom face of the dash. If you look under the dash the mounting screws and hinge are visible. On the door itself, there are 2 screw holes on each side, next to a slot. The are to attach the "C" shape brackets that limit the door open position. The upper end of these brackets fit through a slot on either side of the glove box.

On either side of the bottom of the door. There are two nylon washers that the screws go through to mount it to the dash opening. The paper insert is a friction fit at the bottom of the door.

Re: 1966 Chevy Glove Box Door Help

So I had to make a work trip to Missouri and ran across another 64/66 Chevy....I'm missing the two strips that run on either side of the glove box that the nylon bushings fit. I've got the bushings but I was puzzled on how they would work without another part(hence the strips). Thanks for everyone's help.
