Talking 550 horses and 605 ft pounds to much?

I now have all my parts to assemble my 406 small block. Is this overkill? I am having it built by a top notch engine builder who built my brothers drag car motor. With all the high dollar parts i am using the engine dyno program we checked estimate torque at 605 ft pounds at 4,000 rpms with 550 horse to the flywheel. I know i will lose some by the time it gets to the rear wheels but this should be a beast with my 4:10 gear ratio... what do you guys think?

Sounds pretty healthy on torque for the cubes and low rpm... what's the specifics?

No such thing as too much power, but maybe not enough traction!

You don't always have to use it all but it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. BTW it is never enough!

Way, way too much. I think it's better that I handle it for you. We'll swap motors.

x2

I put H-beam rods and an aftermarket crank in mine, but no forged pistons!!! That's about the only thing I regret about this motor!!!!!

Re: 550 horses and 605 ft pounds to much?

Sounds like fun, are you going to be able to run it on pump gas.

Reminds me of a mouthbreather coming up to me at a car show a few years ago and telling me the cops wouldn't let his brother drive his car on the street because it had so much horsepower it was illegal for the street.
